He has owned a chromed Lamborghini Murcielago, so when Pontiac announced it would be letting rapper 50 Cent create his own SEMA car the results could have been really wild. However, the result looks pretty tame at first glance. Based on Pontiac's yet to be released G8 GT saloon the 50 Cent car was built in collaboration with New York-based Unique Autosports - a custom shop that features on the US TV show Unique Whips. Showing remarkable restraint at an event where 30-inch wheels are being exhibited, 50 Cent's G8 rides on 22-inch NC Forged Chrome wheels wearing Pirelli tyres.
Other external changes are limited to smoked rear lights, darkened glass and a black stripe running from the front grille to the bootlid. Inside, the seats have been re-trimmed in red perforated leather and a monster 800 Watt stereo has also been installed. But the audio equipment isn't the only big-power thing about 50's G8, as under the bonnet sits a 500bhp 7.0-litre LSX 427 V8 more usually found powering Corvettes. Perhaps it's not so restrained after all.
