Karting

Every single one of those millionaire, playboy racing drivers you see driving F1 cars cut their teeth racing in karts. It's where all racing drivers learn their craft and although it's highly unlikely your dad is going to ever use a day's karting to launch a motorsport career it is about as much fun as you can have on four wheels. It doesn't matter if they're indoor or outdoor tracks, twin or single engined or even electric karts; they are all fantastic fun to drive. Tiny, grippy and fast, being so low down and exposed makes karting a real adrenaline rush.

Karting is fairly inexpensive and widespread too, there's usually a centre on the outskirts of every town. Book a session for dad and race everyone in the family (just be sure to let dad win), or get a few of your mate's dads down and have an old man grand prix. They'll be talking about it in the pub for months afterwards.
