In the past ten years sleepy Goodwood has become a real draw for motorsport fans. The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicked it off, Lord March's annual event inviting some of the world's greatest drivers and riders to drive and ride some of the most significant race and rally cars and superbikes up his driveway. There's nowhere else in the world where you'll get to see such amazing machinery up so close and in action, tearing up the long hill-climb route. It's a must-visit motorsport event for any petrolhead; any dad would enjoy a day out at the Festival of Speed.
If your old man is a bit more nostalgic then the Goodwood Revival might be more his thing. Racing cars from the '50s and '60s battle out on track at Goodwood, the entire event like stepping back in time to a proper '50's race meeting. Even the spectators dress up in period gear, adding to its amazing authenticity.
