Sbarro Citroen Cruise Crosser

Citroen has worked for a number of years with the quirky Espera Sbarro School to develop unique concepts. The design school usually has a few interesting cars in Geneva, alongside rows of its scale models. Star of the Sbarro stand this year was the Citroen Cruise Crosser, an extreme interpretation of Citroen's first SUV, the C-Crosser, itself making its world debut at the Geneva Show.

Though unlikely for production, the Cruise Crosser is much more than a clay model. It is a fully working prototype employing three axles and six-wheel drive to offer serious off-road abilities. Not only that, the concept also features a diesel-electric hybrid system that has the ability to run as a zero emission vehicle in slow-speed situations, by driving the rearmost wheels only.

Standard seating in the concept's cabin is just for four, though an extra row can be fitted at the front of the load area if necessary.
