Spyker, a Dutch company, has been known for some time as a maker of unusual, bespoke sportscars featuring powerful engines and luxurious, extravagant interiors. That's all, thankfully, still in place, but suddenly the company owns a Formula One team and has high hopes for the 2007 season. To commemorate that, the Italian design house, Zagato, was commissioned to design and produce a special car based on the company's C12 Spyder.

The result is the Spyker C12 Zagato, displayed at the Geneva Motor Show for the first time. F1-inspired details abound, from the central ridge in the bonnet and nose to the air intake situated above the rear window and the hot air 'chimneys' in the rear wings. It certainly is distinctive! Owners are fairly safe in the knowledge that they won't see another in the vicinity, as Spyker is releasing just 24 examples for sale at a cool half a million Euros. That should cover the F1 catering budget then...
