Ferrari Enzo

Ferrari has a habit of making limited-run hyper-cars to celebrate significant anniversaries and it followed the F40 and F50 with the Enzo. Celebrating 60 years of the marque (the F40 and F50 celebrating the 40th and 50th anniversaries respectively), Ferrari deemed the Enzo special enough to give it the company founder's name. Produced between 2003 and 2005, the Enzo was originally only supposed to have a production run of 350 cars, but pressure from eager buyers persuaded Ferrari to make an additional 50. So exclusive you had to be invited to buy it, the Enzo is a must have if you're in the realms of the super rich.

High profile owners include Pink Floyd's Nick Mason, Jay Kay from Jamiroquai, Microsoft's co-owner Paul Allen and Eric Clapton. 'Slow hand' wasn't quite so slow when he was stopped in his Enzo on a Paris highway at a reported 145mph. Enzos cost £440,000 new, but numbers of the 200mph V12 carbon-fibre hyper-car are diminishing as many hapless owners are destroying them. All of which ensures the cars that survive continue to command quite ridiculous prices. Must be nice being wealthy...
