The Saleen name might not mean that much to many UK readers, but the company is very well known in the USA. There it's made lots of money producing hot versions of the Ford Mustang and the like, its expertise in tuning Fords meaning the Blue Oval sourced some parts from the firm for its own GT supercar. But Saleen makes its own mega car, the S7. It offers over 750bhp from its 7.0-litre engine, which gives it the ability to reach 62mph in less than three seconds and comfortably breach 200mph.
Saleen might not have the heritage of companies like Porsche and Ferrari, it only being around since the 1980s. However, owner Steve Saleen, a former racer, understands that racing is a great stage for presenting his dream car. So attend a GT race and you'll see S7s embarrassing some of the more established marques on the track. Saleen knows how to treat its owners too; buy an S7 and the company will fly you to its factory for a custom seat fitting, tailoring the car to fit you perfectly.
