We knew Fisker Automotive and Quantum Technologies were planning to show its new car at the Detroit show, but what did remain secret until the unveil was the proposed price and performance statistics. So here they are. Fisker is claiming that it'll be able to sell the innovative plug-in hybrid car for a starting price of $80,000 - or around £41,000 at current exchange rates. That's around Lexus GS 450h hybrid money. However, should the Fisker reach the UK we'd expect it to cost significantly more.
Utilising what Fisker and Quantum Technologies describe as a Q-Drive the Karma has a lithium-ion battery pack that's good for 50 miles and a four-cylinder petrol engine. When combined in Sport Mode the Fisker can reach 62mph in less than 6 seconds and exceed 125mph. But forget the innovative, environmentally-friendly plug-in hybrid drivetrain for a moment though and just look at it. Have you ever seen a more attractive green car?
