Audi A4 Cabriolet

There was a time when the runabout of choice for Princess Diana was the Audi A4 Cabriolet. Way back then, the Audi exuded a simple, classical image with little or no pretension, but plenty of style. The formula remains intact.

Heads may not turn when you roll by in most of the A4 Cabriolet range, but its owner and passengers can smile smugly at occupying one of the finest interiors in the business. Audi still leads the charge when it comes to creating tactile switchgear and high-quality fittings.

Nowadays, the A4 Cabriolet range is huge, starting with a 1.8-litre model and topped off by the fantastic RS4. The latter will turn heads with its butched-up appearance, as well as with the naughty V8-produced exhaust note. Considering the performance on tap, it is good value at a little under £60,000. If you're rather more aware of the price of fuel, there are even a few diesel models to choose from.
