Volkswagen Neeza concept
The Chinese makers provided plenty of concept car entertainment in Beijing this year, but only one made the news back home in Europe and that was the Neeza from Shanghai VW. The resemblance to European models is clear, especially in the overall shape of the front and rear lights, but this concept car was designed in China with the Chinese market in mind.
Shanghai Volkswagen was responsible for the Neeza and says that its design comprises aspects of a sports coupé and estate with off-roader. Be careful not to write the Neeza off as a flight of Chinese design fancy, as we hear on the grapevine that VW is in the process of developing a crossover for Europe and this concept could offer up some clues to that car's design.
The Neeza's interior is more far fetched than the relatively production-ready exterior, featuring a "Magic Box" that takes the place of traditional infotainment systems. Incidentally, the concept's name originates from the name of "a famous and mystical figure from Chinese history who had magical weapons and fought evil spirits."
