Personally speaking, the Tigra is the best-looking car of this bunch of five, but it gets demoted to third place for its lack of rear seats. Sure, the rear chairs in the other cars are useless for adults on a long journey, but they are fine for children, or pets for that matter. The Tigra may feel more like a sports car without them, but we think buyers would rather have the choice.

That aside, the little Tigra is a cracking looking car. There is a wide selection of trim and engine options, including an efficient diesel. Opt for the Sport and you'll get a car that is as good to drive as it is to look at, with minimal scuttle shake. Even the 1.4-litre version is fun, though not fast. The Tigra's interior is well designed, though the Micra has it whipped on quality of materials.
