BMW Canine Repellent Alloy Protection

If your neighbour's dog has taking a shine to using the alloy wheels on your car as a loo then the BMW's Canine Repellent Alloy Protection (CRAP) might be just the thing. Even if it weren't April 1 we'd have trouble taking this one seriously, BMW claiming to offer this new system as part of its EfficientDynamics programme.

The shocking, mocking, system is claimed to use energy reclaimed from the EfficientDynamics braking system, storing up the energy as Rim Impulse Power - or RIP. It'd then be used to administer a relatively painless electric shock to a dog that tries to relieve itself on an alloy wheel. The fictional Dr Hans Zoff, Head of Automotive Security from BMW AG, said; “Research shows that most BMW customers like to keep their cars clean and dog fouling is a constant irritant. Not only does the Canine Repellent Alloy Protection system support this aim, but it does so using energy created through the EfficientDynamics programme. Beauty through engineering perfection - our philosophy in a wheel nut.”
