Rumours persisted that Bugatti would create an open-topped version of its Veyron hypercar and today the company has released the first images and details.
The new derivative is to be named the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport and features a removable glass roof, which should allow its occupants a unique soundtrack.
The Grand Sport will feature the same W16 engine as the 252mph hard-top car, though it is thought that it will not be capable of the same record-breaking top speed.
However, it's likely that the new car will accelerate just as formidably, with an estimated 0-62mph time of less than three seconds.
Bugatti will present the Grand Sport in public for the first time on August 16th at the exclusive Pebble Beach Concourse d'Elegance, which will no doubt be attended by several potential buyers. You can spot them easily enough: they're the ones not asking how much it is...
