The Honda has the Prius firmly in sight both environmentally and regarding safety. It might not boast economy figures as high as its key rival, but the Honda still returns a planet and wallet-friendly 64.2mpg - stretching out the trips to the pumps to the maximum. CO2 emissions of 101g/km will salve your environmental conscience, too.
Where the Honda beats the Toyota is not just on pricing - the Insight a good bit cheaper than the Prius - but in Euro NCAP's tests too. It betters the adult occupant protection by 2% to record 90%, its safety assist score of 86% being identical to its Toyota rival. The Insight drops the ball a touch with the child safety rating being lower than the Toyota's, but its 74% score is still highly credible. As is its pedestrian protection score of 76%, the Insight demonstrating ably Honda's investment in this area of safety.
