Like Volkswagen's Golf GTI show car the MINI Crossover Concept will soon be on a street near you. Or perhaps off it, as this four-wheel-drive MINI is able to go where no other MINIs would dare. Based loosely on the shape of the Clubman estate, the Crossover concept is longer and taller than any other model in the range, adding to its practicality. Four doors now access the cabin too, making it a far more useful family car. Being a MINI those doors are pretty unconventional, the rear door on the driver's side of the car sliding open to aid access to the two rear seats.
It's likely the production version will come with a bench rear seat in the back, while concept touches like the 'Centre Rail' with its moveable cupholders, storage units and entertainment functions are unlikely to make it onto the eventual showroom model. When that might be is open to question, but we reckon you'll be seeing MINI Crossovers on the street in the next 12 months.
