The final motorshow of 2006, Bologna, marked the European debut of the Roadster version of the Murcielago LP640, the most extreme version of the Murcielago supercar yet released. The Roadster features the same 6.5-litre V12 as its coupé brother, with 640bhp (hence the name) and 660Nm of torque. Apparently, wheelspin is possible in the dry despite the car's standard four-wheel drive!

The open-topped Murcielago Roadster doesn't weigh a lot more than the coupé either, so performance remains frightening, with 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205mph. Just make sure that the roof is not in place if you attempt that terminal velocity, as it's recommended to stay below 100mph with it fitted and Lamborghini is happy to admit that it has been designed for temporary use only...
