A World Land Speed record that has stood for 102 years is set to be smashed by a British team.
The British Steam Car Team is aiming to beat the 127.659mph record set in 1906 by a Stanley Steamer driven by Fred Marriot.
Heading the team is Charles Burnett III, the nephew of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu who runs the National Motor Museum.
Burnett is the lead driver for the team, but they have also brought in Don Wales, who is the grandson of World Land Speed Record holder Sir Malcolm Campbell.
Wales has already set record top speeds for electric cars and says he is looking forward to another attempt in a different machine.
The car uses a steam turbine engine mounted to the rear of the car.
Slippery aerodynamics will help the British Steam Car achieve high speeds.
The team is aiming to set a new world record of 200mph for a steam-powered car at the Bonneville Salt Flats, USA in mid-August.
