In spite of all the media's criticism of the styling of the current BMW 7 Series, it sold in greater numbers than any version before it. Now BMW has an all-new model to show us in Paris and already the doomsayers are complaining that it looks ordinary. Take a good hard look at the spec sheet though, as this car is packed with new technology and promises to be a superb car.
Leading the techno-charge is a new adaptive damping chassis that allows the driver to choose between Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport Plus. Additionally, buyers may specify four-wheel steering, which is said to enhance the big 7's agility and stability. On top of all that, the interior of the 7 Series features a vastly improved version of the company's oft maligned iDrive system, with more intuitive menus and more buttons to aid navigation.
Under the bonnet lies a range of turbocharged engines, allowing BMW to offer performance improvements over the current car without increases in fuel consumption or emissions. Indeed, with the latest EfficientDynamics measures, the 7 promises to be significantly greener than the outgoing car, yet also quicker. Still care about the toned down looks?
