Stay at home, It's pretty obvious really - don't travel.

If conditions really are so shocking that the country has ground to a halt it's well worth doing as others do and stay at home. Provisions should be made for you to get to work if you're an essential worker in healthcare or the emergency services, but otherwise stay at home and work from there. You can organise things by phone, and most of us have Internet connections and computers so call your boss and tell them you'll be more productive at home working rather than battling pointlessly into an empty office or workplace.

If you can't work from home then take a holiday, build a snowman or go sledging - you might as well try to enjoy the cold snap!
