Ferrari offers personalisation

With the 599 and 430 Scuderia stealing the headlines recently you could be forgiven for forgetting about Ferrari's big GT, the 612 Scaglietti.

But Ferrari hasn't, giving the big four-seater a few revisions to improve the driving appeal of its flagship model.

The F1 gearbox is the only transmission now offered, it receiving the latest F1 SuperFast software to reduce its shifting speed to 100 milliseconds.

The changes to the gearbox have allowed Ferrari to fit a 'manettino' switch on the steering wheel to control the ferocity of the gearshifts.

Other technical revisions include a new twin-plate clutch to reduce rotating masses, further improving the shift quality.

In addition to the technical revisions to the 612, Ferrari announced its new One-to-One Personalisation Programme in Geneva.

With every 612 customer making special requests on their orders Ferrari has set up an 'atelier' within the factory to perfectly tailor their car to their exact specification.

The first atelier opens in the factory soon, with further such ateliers being opened around the world in the next few months.

Demonstrating the new programme Ferrari has a 612 Scaglietti on its stand that has been inspired by the classic 365 GTB4 Daytona that sits alongside it on the stand.
