As the name suggests, the S2000 idea has been around since the turn of the millennium, but take a drive down your favourite road and you'd be hard pushed to find many faults.

There is nothing old-fashioned about the Honda's high-revving 240bhp VTEC-equipped engine, though its need to be revved to get the best out of it may put off some buyers. The S2000's exterior is still distinctive thanks in many ways to relatively low sales. The electric roof works well and you can be sure that it will still be that way in 100 years or so, as with everything else on the car. Inside could be described as cosy, though really is pretty cramped against the other cars here. The S2000 appeals more to the extreme driving enthusiast than most convertibles thanks to sharp dynamics and excellent feedback from the driving controls. One major disadvantage for the less skilled driver is the complete lack of traction control.
