Nissan 350Z ROadster
The 350Z Coupe was our choice of sub-£30,000 sports coupes at the start of the year and despite the presence of several keen rivals the 350Z Roadster manages to hit all the right buttons again to take the top spot in this week's Five of the Best.
Under the distinctive bonnet lies the same 3.5-litre V6 as fitted to the Coupe. For 2006, the 350Z range has been updated with more power, better equipment and a substantially revised interior keeping it at the top of the class. For complete balls-out driving, the Coupe is better, but the Roadster driver will be smiling too, especially if the fast electrically-operated roof is stowed allowing the fabulous exhaust note into the cabin undiluted. Like most open-top cars the 350Z is at its best with the sun shining and the roof stowed, but even with the fabric roof in place it looks good and keeps the elements at bay.
