BMW 1 Series Coupé
BMW's rollout of models in new niches is prolific and just when you thought that there were enough BMW 1 Series models available with three- and five-door options, BMW announces the arrival of a slinky new Coupé version and if the rumours are true, it'll spawn a new convertible too.
The new 1 Series Coupé is a distinctive looking car and though it shares design cues with its bigger 3 Series Coupé brother, the saloon-like rear deck and squat proportions are all its own. Some say it draws inspiration from the classic BMW 2002 model from the late sixties and early seventies.
Interesting style aside, the new Coupé line-up will feature a 135i model powered by the new twin-turbo six-cylinder engine and it will put its power to the rear wheels with the help of a new limited slip differential. We're not the only ones to wonder how close in character this car will be to the very first BMW M3.
