Citroen revises baby C1

With the city car segment just getting a whole lot more competitive thanks to the arrival of the Ford Ka, Citroen has seen fit to freshen up its C1.

The smallest car in Citroen's range has grown up a bit thanks to styling changes inside and out, as well as improved interior quality. In addition, Citroen has improved fuel economy and emissions, making the C1 officially the cleanest petrol powered car on sale in the UK.

The 68bhp 1.0-litre engine now spits out a mere 106g/km of CO2 (down from 108g/km) and consumes fuel at a miserly 62.8mpg. The changes further separate the Citroen from the two cars which share its platform - the Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo - and make the C1 the fourth model Citroen has revised over the last couple of months.

The updated C1 will go on sale early next year, with prices announced shortly, though expect a mild increase.
