Ferrari 599 GTB

It would take a particularly benevolent Mrs. Claus (not to mention a cash-rich one) to shell out on this beauty, but there is no doubt in our minds that the Ferrari 599 GTB is one of the most desirable new cars launched this year and we think it will attract the male of the species.

Many sportscars appeal to the senses. Ferraris have always had something special aesthetically, but the 599 GTB represents the latest generation of technology-lead designs from the Italians. Most women will start yawning when I point out that the curved buttresses behind the cabin are actually there to channel air and improve the car's aerodynamic efficiency, not just to look good.

Now that the women have stopped reading (ahem), the rest of us can revel in the thought of the 620bhp the 599 GTB's 6-litre V12 produces, which appeals to our most basic animal instinct, and let's face it, no boy wants to grow up really.
