Good as the current Fiesta is it's difficult to get excited about its styling. It seems Ford has realised this and has decided to rectify that with its new car. The Verve is a fantastic looking concept, the production model, which is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Show in March, is promised to be close to that of the Verve concept on show at Bologna. Like the car it replaces the new Fiesta should be a cracking drive, the engine line-up anticipated to start with Ford's 1.25-litre petrol unit, with 1.4 and 1.6-litre versions also available in petrol and diesel.
Along with fresher, more exciting looks outside the next generation Fiesta should bring with it a far smarter interior, the current car's cabin often criticised for both its design and materials. Space inside should also be improved, the Verve concept visibly bigger than the car it replaces. It's likely to appeal to the Bologna show-goers, Italy traditionally a market dominated by superminis.
