Celebs queue up to buy new Lotus

Opinion is still split on the name of Lotus's next new model, but A-list celebrities all are in agreement that the new Evora is worth checking out.

Lotus has issued a list of famous people with their name already down for an early test drive of the new 2+2 Evora sportscar and there are many big names too.

Both Hammond and James May from Top Gear have an interest, while world famous car nuts Jay Leno and Jay Kay from Jamiroquai are also on the list.

Bizarrely, two actors that have played James Bond - Brosnan and Daniel Craig - have expressed their interest too, though it's unclear whether Lotus plans to offer the Evora with a submarine function...

Looks like the Evora could find favour in the upper echelons of the music industry as well, with names such as Beyonce, Dave Grohl and Jennifer Lopez all on the waiting list.

The new Evora will be launched early next year at a price of about £50,000.
