Aston Martin's Geneva stand features some truly eye-watering metal - including the surprise Lagonda 4x4 - but this is the true star: the seven-figure beast that is the One-77.
What's all the fuss about?
Oh, where to begin? Well, if the Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce is the loudest car on display, this still trumps it with an unmatched blend of technology and understated brutality. Only 77 of these Astons will be made, costing over £1.1m to the lucky few, each tailored specifically to the buyer's requirements. Still, each one will be an example of a car Aston genuinely believes is quite simply the best road car ever made.
Any new technology?
The car's exquisite engineering is based on DTM race cars, because Aston wants punters to be as gobsmacked by the underpinnings as they are by the looks. The front-engined, rear-drive hypercar gets a carbon fibre chassis and hand made aluminium panels - so you'll probably be able to pick it up with one hand (without the interior, engine and wheels attached, that is). It's powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine, fettled by Cosworth to produce 700bhp. And it gets carbon ceramic brakes and adjustable suspension.
When can I buy one?
Keep checking Ebay, because each of the 77 examples Aston will build already has a massive deposit placed on it, but one of them is bound to turn up for sale at a premium shortly after deliveries begin. Or you could just buy one of each of the rest of Aston's range, and use the remaining half a million or so to have a nice holiday.
