LTI TX4 Taxi, Where to guv?

London Taxis International is to participate in the Government's scrappage plan in a bid to have cabbies up and down the country scrap their worn out machines and replace them with a shiny new cab. Speaking about the initiative LTI's Sales Director, Rob Laidler said “We welcome this initiative from the government to stimulate sales and improve the quality of the UK's taxi fleet. A new TX4 is so much safer, cleaner, more efficient and comfortable than a 10-year old taxi that this will be a real benefit for drivers, customers and the environment, as well as helping UK automotive manufacturing through these tough times. It's one of those rare win win situations!”

So can we expect business-minded cabbies queuing up at LTI showrooms to get their hands on a new TX4? We wouldn't bet against it, cabbies up and down the country no doubt hugely enthused by the prospect of the government stumping up part of the costs of their new taxi.
