The Infiniti luxury brand was launched in Europe at the Geneva show alongside its all-new FX50 sports SUV.
Infiniti is the luxury division of Nissan, much like Lexus is Toyotas's upmarket brand.
Infiniti has been selling cars in the USA for 20 years, but this is the first time the cars will be officially sold in Europe.
The range goes on sale this summer and will consist of the G Sedan and Coupé, M saloon and EX crossover, and FX luxury SUV.
The FX50 is the latest car to join Infiniti's ranks and made its world debut in Geneva.
This Porsche Cayenne rival uses a 380bhp 5.0-litre V8 engine and seven-speed automatic gearbox in top spec.
There will also be a V6-engined model, though Infiniti is remaining tight-lipped about this model until the FX is launched late this year.
The FX50 has four-wheel drive, but is aimed at on-road driving.
It will have a generous standard equipment list that includes leather seats, Bose stereo system, satellite navigation and even a unique 12-point 'welcome lighting' arrangement when the car is unlocked.
The whole Infiniti range will be on sale in the UK from mid-2009.
