Toyota Supra, Fast depreciator

Before Toyota became all earnest and started building environmental machines like the Prius hybrid there were a number of hot models in its range. The Celica and MR2 were part of the line-up, which was lead by the awesome Supra. Introduced in the early 1980s, the Supra took the traditional route of Japanese sports cars and developed throughout its life into a seriously respected road weapon. The fourth and final (so far) Supra are unquestionably the best, the turbo model having performance to rival established supercar players.

Unsurprisingly, the Supra went on to become a tuners' favourite. In standard guise the twin-sequential turbocharged engine produced 326bhp, enough for the Supra to record a sub-seven second 0-62mph time. That's as standard; the Supra's 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine is famously robust, so it's easily tuneable to deliver so much more. Wild enough looking without a body kit, the Supra is now an inexpensive way to enjoy some fast and furious driving.

Supra from £3,000.
