Lotus 2-Eleven

For such a small company, Lotus made its presence felt in Geneva with a wealth of new technology, updates to existing models and a couple of new extreme road models. One of which is the new 2-Eleven you see here and yes, it really is intended for road use!

Lotus intends the new 2-Eleven for series production in two formats, one of which will be road legal. The car at the show is adorned with Lotus Sport decals, which will be part of the 'launch edition specification'. The basis of all variants is a new high-sided development of the Elise's epoxy bonded aluminium alloy chassis, enhancing structural rigidity on which to bolt the track-focused suspension components.

The driver sits in an FIA-approved race seat and is protected in a rollover from an approved roll bar. Behind all that is a tuned version of the familiar supercharged 1.8-litre Toyota engine, producing 252bhp, which is enough to propel the lightweight 2-Eleven to 60mph in just 3.8 seconds. Thrilling is the only word to describe this car.
