Bond and the Q department clearly like their Aston Martins, the British built supercars featuring heavily in Bond films. Along with the DB5 there's been a V8 Vantage in The Living Daylights with 'ski' outriggers, an invisibility enabled Vanquish in Die Another Day and more recently the DBS in Casino Royale. Featuring relatively briefly and only after Bond had done his corporate bit and driven Ford's new Mondeo on screen, the DBS is the perfect choice for Bond.
Based on the DB9, the DBS is relatively inconspicuous for a supercar, though with 530bhp on tap Bond has the grunt to take on anything on the road. Shame then that the DBS's appearance in Casino Royale was so brief. Bond only managed to drive it for seconds before he rolled it massively during a chase sequence. Three cars were used in the filming of that roll, which at around £170,000 a go makes for an expensive few seconds of film. The Q department must have been pretty broke too, as the DBS does without many gadgets. Due to reappear in Quantum of Solace, we've got our fingers crossed it gets more screen time than its debut in the previous film.
