Aston Martin Vanquish
After a period of BMW involvement, the Ford Motor Company came back to the screens with a mighty bang in the last Bond movie,
Die Another Day. Not only was 007 reunited with the Aston Martin brand, but it looked like everybody else in the movie had a car from one or other of the Ford brands. We spotted Range Rovers galore, a Ford Thunderbird, Ford GT and Jaguar XKR Convertible amongst others.
The star was of course Bond's set of wheels, which was the V12-engined Aston Martin Vanquish. Thankfully, the film makers didn't drown out the distinctive noise from the Aston's engine and the car chase involving the Vanquish and the Jaguar on ice was nothing short of spectacular. The stunt driving hogged the limelight, putting the Vanquish's gadgets in the shade, though of course it featured missile launchers, skis and usefully, a detachable roof that managed to flip Bond upright again when the Aston landed on its roof in the ice. Oh, and invisibility. Now that would be useful depending where you wanted to park it in London!
