Aston Martin is selling a V8 Vantage. Nothing unusual in that except this one was used for 100,000 miles of durability testing by the company before the Vantage went on sale and then it became the first car to cross the Asian Highway as part of a 10,000-mile, 49-day endurance drive form Tokyo to London. During the Aston's amazing drive, it passed through 18 countries and raised more than £70,000 for UNICEF and helped to promote road safety in China. The V8 Vantage was driven by Richard Meredith and Phil Colley, who needed all of their skills to pilot the low-slung supercar across some of the roughest terrain in the world. Richard said: "The car is a piece of history now and I'm thrilled Aston has decided to auction it. In the 49 days it took us to complete our trip, an estimated 150,000 people were killed on the world's roads and 25,000 of those were children. I hope the money will go some way to help resolve this tragic problem." The car will be sold off in exactly the condition and livery it completed it's Tokyo to London trip and all proceeds will go to the UNICEF China fund.
