The number of accidents involving foreign trucks on UK roads is rising and is estimated to account for £52 million of damage to British vehicles.
As many as 9,800 foreign-registered trucks are involved in road accidents in the UK every year.
The greatest number of accidents (42%) occurs on the M25 around London.
Accident management specialist Accident Exchange says the foreign trucks are now responsible for one in every 350 accidents on UK roads.
The most common type of accident is a side-swipe, where the driver of a left-hand drive truck fails to spot a car in the blind spot.
Steve Evans, chief executive of Accident Exchange, said: 'British drivers need to be aware of the dangers of left-hand drive trucks when overtaking on the right.
