Volvo will have to pay out £1,350 to a German driver because his feet are too large to fit the pedals of his C70 convertible.
Michael Herzog claimed the Swedish car maker should have built the car so that his feet would fit.
The court in Wiesloch, southern Germany, agreed with Mr Herzog and ordered Volvo to pay him compensation.
In its ruling, the court said Volvo should make cars that cater for drivers with larger feet.
Mr Herzog has size 12 feet and was not able to safely operate the accelerator pedal of his C70.
To drive the car, Mr Herzog had a pair of driving shoes specially made and he had to change back into normal shoes every time he got out of the car.
