Two show stars for Nissan in Paris

Though no images are available at the time of writing, Nissan has begun to tease the media with preliminary details of a futuristic new concept car, set to make its world debut at the Paris Show next month.

Nissan calls its new vision of the future 'Nuvu', meaning literally 'new view' and it is thought to showcase electric car technology suitable for an urban environment.

The Nuvu is less than three metres in length and features just three seats in a '2+1' formation. Nissan claims that it is particularly easy to park, which may mean a reappearance of the '3d' electric wheel motors featured on Nissan's quirky Pivo concept car.

Although Nissan has announced that it will unveil a production ready electric car at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, the Nuvu is not that car, though the showroom model may share some of the technological features.

Pictured is the new Nissan Pixo city car, also making its debut at the Paris Show in October. Sharing its underpinnings with Suzuki's new Alto, Nissan's new entry-level model is powered by a frugal 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine and the company claims that it will be cheap to buy and run.

More details on the Pixo, Nuvu concept and updated Note model will be announced in a few weeks.
