Lily Allen sells her BMW

You might think a chart-topping album and plenty radio air play of her tunes would see 23-year old star Lily Allen rolling in cash but the singer claims she has had to sell her BMW because she's so broke. Royalties for music can take a while to arrive and Lily's been spending when the banks aren't lending, leaving her little option but to sell her beloved BMW convertible.

Costing around £35,000 when she bought it a year ago Lily is likely to have been hit hard by the huge drop in convertible values. Used car experts Glass's have recently suggested that values of prestige cabriolets have fallen to an all-time low. “Values of prestige roadsters and cabriolets have traditionally outperformed those of most other segments, but latterly they have been hit hard by the decline in consumer spending,” explains Richard Crosthwaite, Prestige Car Editor at Glass's.

Famous for her hit single Smile, Lily should be happy if she opts for a used cabriolet when the money starts rolling back in again with those low used prices resulting in some real drop-top bargains. If she picks wisely she can ensure the royalties from her second album ""It's Not Me, It's You will stretch a little further.
