Fiat could bring Tata Nano to Europe

When Tata revealed the Nano earlier this year it grabbed the attention of the world for being the cheapest ever new car, selling for the equivalent of just £1,300 and now Fiat is in discussions with the car's maker that could result in a version being sold in Europe.

Fiat's CEO, Sergio Marchionne, is in New Delhi to discuss a possible collaboration with Tata Motors on commercial vehicles, though it's expected that the companies have other partnerships planned.

Supporting that idea, Marchionne has admitted that Fiat will introduce a new small car in India within the next two years and though it will be Fiat's cheapest car, it will not compete directly with Tata's cut-price Nano.

Fiat already produces cars at its Ranjangaon plant in conjunction with Tata and plans to increase the factory's output to 100,000 cars and 200,000 engines per annum, which will include Tata models.
