Volkswagen has topped off its Touareg range with the launch of the R50.
It's based on the 5.0-litre V10 TDI model, but with the huge turbodiesel engine uprated with more power and mid-rev shove.
The R50's V10 engine produces 345bhp and 627lb.ft of pull, which is 36bhp and 74lb.ft more than the standard V10 TDI model.
The extra power sees the R50 sprint from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 146mph.
The R50 still has the same claimed economy and emissions figures as the standard Touareg V10 TDI, turning in 22.4mpg and 333g/km of carbon dioxide.
The all-wheel drive R50 has 21-inch alloy wheels and VW's R Design body kit that consists of a roof spoiler, restyled bumpers and oval exhausts pipes.
Leather seats are standard with the £61,885 price tag, and only a limited number of Touareg R50s will be sold in the UK.
