Car buyers are increasingly looking for good value and Chevrolet is offering exactly that with its new Cruze. Prices for the family car start at just £11,545, the range of new cars including two petrol engines of 1.6 and 1.8-litres and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel. The entry-level 1.6 S offers an excellent value package, however if you want air conditioning then you'll need to add £450 to its £11,545 sticker price.
The LS models are anticipated to be the biggest sellers in the line-up, these coming with air conditioning as standard, along with alloy wheels, front fog lamps and reverse parking sensors. The LS line-up starts at just £12,595 for the 1.6-litre petrol model.
The new Cruze will be able to offer its owners some sporting kudos too, the saloon being the model which will spearhead Chevrolet's campaign in the World Touring Car Championship. It's unlikely the showroom cars will be able to lap around Brands Hatch as quickly the racers do on July 19, but they're a huge amount cheaper and massively better equipped than their racing relatives. Sales of the new Cruze start this July.
