Although the Mazda MX-5 is cracking good value for money, the Citroen C3 Pluriel is even cheaper. No, it doesn't have the same driving experience, but it does have as much space as any supermini and a good-sized boot, err, to boot.
Just £13,000 or so gets you a brand new version and there are petrol and diesel options, though none of them have what you'd call decent performance. However, they're versatile cars and perfect for lolling along on a quiet country drive. With low running costs, they're the perfect way to get into convertible ownership too.
