Vauxhall VXR8
It's a little strange to feature a car with the
Vauxhall Griffin on its bonnet alongside the premium German marques, but if you remember the late, great, Vauxhall Monaro then the appearance of the VXR8 on the scene should not be too much of a shock to the system.
Like the Monaro, the VXR8 is actually a Holden, designed, developed and built in Australia. Then the badges are prised off and replaced with Vauxhall items for the UK market. Thankfully the mechanicals remain the same though, so that means you get a stonking 6-litre V8 (borrowed from the
Chevrolet Corvette) trying its best to force 414bhp and 406lb.ft of torque through the ample rear tyres.
The Monaro was huge fun and we're looking forward to getting our hands on the VXR8, as it's mooted to be a better drive all round. Oh, and it'll cost less than £35,000...
Strewth mate!
