Renault plans world debut in London

Renault is wheeling out some high profile personnel at the British Motor Show, as well as giving a new model its world debut and showing two of its concepts for the first time in the UK.

Though Renault has not released any official details, it's known that the new car is an extreme version of the Mégane Renaultsport, likely to be called R26-R. Pat Symonds, Executive Director of Engineering for the Renault F1 Team, will unveil the new car.

Dame Ellen MacArthur will also be on the stand to help promote Renault's eco2 brand, into which 92 of its vehicles fall. Thirty of those cars emit less than 120g/km of CO2.

Another adventurer will join the show on July 22nd. Laurent Granier will end an epic 16,000-mile journey along the 'Silk Route' in his Renault Koleos at the ExCeL exhibition centre.

Along with the latest showroom models from the brand, Renault will give the Laguna Coupé and the Mégane Coupé concepts their first outing in the UK.
