Downsizing doesn't need to be boring, and BMW's 120d ES proves it. The smallest coupé in the BMW range underlines that premium coupé ownership can be had even in tough financial times. Benefiting from BMW's fuel saving EfficientDynamics the 120d ES Coupe returns a very wallet friendly 52.3mpg combined fuel consumption figure, while its CO2 emissions of 128g/km also means low tax if it's being bought with company money.
ES trim is BMW's entry-level spec here, but if you can manage with air conditioning instead of full climate control and can park without rear sensors then you'll save £1,440 over an SE spec car, the 120d ES Coupe costing £21,850. That's not a lot for a premium badged coupé that's fun to drive and delivers excellent economy. Coupé buyers looking to save some money on their next purchase could do a lot worse than BMW's efficient, compact two-door.
