Amazing £120,000 F1 simulator is ultimate Christmas present

With Christmas just around the corner, what do you get the Formula One fanatic? One answer is the £120,000 Hexatech race simulator that is used by real F1 teams.

Built in single and three-seater sizes, the Hexatech is as close to the real thing as possible. It uses giant hydraulic rams to replicate the movement and G-forces experienced in a real Formula One car during a race. Hexatech boss Frank Kalff says: "Although easy to operate, this is the exact same equipment used by the top racing drivers and engineers to improve their race craft and evaluate new tracks and car settings."

Built to exacting standards, the Hexatech simulator uses three 42-inch widescreen televisions to give an all-round view of the track from the driver's seat. Open or closed cockpits can be specified by the owner and the machine can even be painted in the owner's favourite colour scheme.

As well as Formula One races, the Hexatech can be used to simulate qualifying laps, rallying, NASCAR and endurance racing. The price includes full installation, although you'll need a room to keep it in and a strong floor to support its weight, but then the F1 fan who has everything should have just the house to suit this ultimate simulator.
