Experience days have been knocking about for a while now, offering punters the chance to do all kinds of bizarre nonsense, from actual medieval jousting to playing snooker with Big Break's very own John Virgo. The biggest experience company, Red Letter Days, is owned by two of the venerable panel of 'dragons' from BBC's Dragon's Den - Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones - too, so you're in safe hands. Evil celebrity businessmen's hands, but safe ones nonetheless.
Seriously though, a driving experience day is a really good gift. From around £100, up to £1,500 for a go in a bona fide F1 car, you can actually feel what it's like to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Aston Martin - which is much easier than spending years training to be a low paid motoring journalist to do the same thing.
Or instead you can drive some classic cars - like an Aston DB5 or an AC Cobra - or a collection of massive diggers, or a go kart, or even a single seat racer. Whatever floats your boat, you can have a go. Even in an actual boat.
