Hyundai is set to make a big splash at the Geneva show next month when it unveils the new Matrix compact MPV alongside a new concept car.

The new Matrix has been designed as a mini-MPV and Hyundai will introduce bold new styling for the car.

Alongside the Matrix is Hyundai's HED-5 six-seat concept MPV that introduces the Korean firm's new high economy technology for the first time.

Hyundai says the mix of lightweight materials and revolutionary construction methods help reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 29%.

The HED-5 is described as a 'near production' package and the company says these environmental benefits will make it into its range of cars in the very near future.
