Jet pack man races hot Ford

It's the sort of spectacle you might expect on the pages of a comic book, but Go Fast jet pack pilot Eric Scott raced a Ford Focus RS in a head-to-head drag race along the main straight of Scotland's Knockhill racing circuit. The stunt took place at a car show at the famously windswept and rainy Scottish circuit, local police from Fife Constabulary on hand with their laser gun to clock Eric Scott's speed.

Managing 68mph Eric literally flew away from the 301bhp Focus RS, beating it across the line with a metre to spare. Not a slow machine itself the fast Ford is able to sprint to 62mph in 5.9 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 163mph. The car was in good hands for the race too, it being driven by British Touring Car driver Gordon Sheddon. Even so the Focus RS wasn't quite able to beat the dare-devil pilot.

Hoping to break his own 75mph record Eric Scott was hampered by the Scottish weather. We've no doubt he'll do that sometime soon, Eric and his jet pack travelling the world making appearances at various shows with his phenomenal flying machine.
